A question for the commish:
Will there be a re-ordering of the draft order?? or will those 5 new teams take over the draft positions of the abandoned teams?
How is this going to be fairly allocated??
I am interested to know.

Just thought i would give my 2cents on everyone's protected roster on a week by week basis. Ill start week one with our commish - SHORTBUS KIDS.
Protected 5:
Chad Johnson 3 Marcel Shipp 6 Andre Johnson 8 Carson Palmer 12 Rudi Johnson 12
The Shortbus Kids are starting a youth movement and different philosophy heading into this year's draft. They traded away Ricky Williams for Rudi Johnson and T.O and then shipped T.O for Chad Johnson and a pick.
The key to the KIDS this year will be their enormous depth. THey are accumulating high picks and extra picks, but the question remains - who will be available in rounds 1-2 and did the KIDS sacrifice too much?
The 2 rbs are young and unproven - Shipp has recently been demoted by coach Dennis Green (although may believe this is simply a coach trying to light a fire under Shipp) and Bengals invested a first round pick on Chris Perry and DID NOT sign Rudi Huxtible to a long term contract? hmm not the best endorsement for a starting RB.
at the WR spot, Chad Johnson is one of the best in the biz but many experts are predicting a drop off in numbers due to the growing pains of Carson Palmer. Andre Johnson proved he is a big play guy with David Carr and will be a great cog in the offense for years to come for the KIDS, however, beware of that cursed SOPHMORE SEASON when defenses actually start to double team the poor guy for the first time in his NFL career.
at QB - the KIDS have protected Carson Palmer - this guy is a leader and has a very very bright future ahead but all experts in the NHFFL agree that one of the KIDS high picks will be spent on a qb this year - quite possibly Steve Air McNair. SO we expect Carson to be riding the pine and holding the clipboard for one more season.
Draft Outlook - The KIDS will have 2 high picks this year. He can go QB-TE or he can jump on the highly touted Rookie WRs this year. Either way the draft will be great for the KIDS.
The real question is - will RUDI and MARCEL and (insert 2 other marginal RBs here) be enough to bring a championship to the KIDS? or will it be 1 step forward for their future and 2 steps back for 2004.
Only time will tell.

Yes - it is only a mock and even though it may not be indicative of your selections, it gives you a sense of the talent out there.
I also now understand your desire to move up in the expansion draft and feel you will negotiate a good deal to do so.
But RBs can be traded for at a later date, ( I can always trade you Travis Henry) but you can always go
L.COLES + HINES WARD + E.MOULDS with your first 3 picks.
As for TIKI + DUCE + T.JONES (based on your comments on Chris Perry, Rudi and SHipp) it seems you already think that the above group will be a better set of RBs than those of our beloved COMMISH!!!
so its all good in the hood.

Well my 4 inch friend - I dont consider any of you as disadvantaged EXPANSION TEAMS - but i cant make that claim until the expansion draft is over. Based on what is available in the exansion draft your top 5 could be very strong. Lets just do a mock shall we.
Priest Portis Deuce S.Alexander Tiki Barber
Manning Culpepper Bennet Hines L.Coles
Westbrook Hassleback Bulger Boldin S.Smith
D.Staley Q.Griffin S.Moss Garner Mason
Pennington Moulds Toomer D.Jackson T.Jones (or Chambers + Booker)
so the teams would look like this.
Chad Pennington Priest Holmes Brian Westbrook Laverneus Coles Derrick Mason
Matt Hassleback Clinton Portis Charlie Garner Hines Ward E.Moulds
Marc Bulger Deuce McAllister M.Bennet S.Moss A.Toomer
D.Culpepper S.Alexander Q.Griffin A.Boldin D.Jackson
Peyton Manning Tiki Barber Duce Staley Thomas Jones Steve Smith (Chris Chambers)
There is at least 2-3 superstars on each team. Nothing to cry over.
But as for all the pressure on me. I love it and will face it head on. Goodluck!!
PS: your message board icon looks like the same rat on the helmet of the HAVOC.

If I can make a request - I would hope that GANG GREEN and 4 inches are placed in the new JOHN MADDEN DIVISION.
these 2 owners seem very competitive and are actually active on the mssg boards.
I want the best teams (owner wise) to be in my division.

I am the lone returning member of the JOHN MADDEN division. The 3 other teams have decided not to compete with me again this year.
I will have 3 new teams in my division this year.
I wonder if they will survive one year against me!!! I wish you luck ladies!! (Brock N Russ)

Wow - talk about respect Sheila proved to the world that it doesnt take a monster lineup to win. She beat me fair n square in our division and she put up a good fight against Pepsi QC in the finals. Too bad i dont get to get my revenge on her this year. Moss and Harrision is a dream i know, but Moss has a foot injury and Harrison is another year older - I can see Chad Johnson putting up similar #s. In fact my rbs are not that strong - Ricky is ranked #8 in most rankings and Travis should be splitting carries with Willis McGahee and Corey Dillon is a total risk - he is a whiner and complainer 30+ and the PATS throw the ball like crazy. Lastly, my depth wont be very good compared to teams like yourself - you have done well stockpiling youth and extra high round picks. A couple of key injuries and my season is done. I am scared of some teams this year too. Look at JR - VICK, LT2 and OWENS - what a core. Our defending Champs - Team Pepsi has a strong core with AHMAN + FRED TAYLOR + HOLT as well. With all the players available in the expansion draft. MANNING HASSLEBACK BULGER PRIEST DEUCE PORTIS TIKI BOLDIN S.SMITH P.PRICE CHAMBERS I believe MIKE made the right CHOICE!!! you are gonna have a great team - and i like your competitive attidude. You gotta work hard to compete with the likes of me..but as proven last year..it can be "DUNN" Football is in the air i love it!!! BRING IT ON. GARE of those deadly CHICKENS!!!

CJH (what's his name by the way??) Has joined the board. Welcome.
Now if the rest of you chumps figure out how to use technology by july we will have a great offseason.
Maybe 4th n Inches can provide a testimonial to all the new owners out there, telling them how easy it was to get on the board.

Pete - you should not have to suffer at all - you can win this year if you want to. WHY ARE YOU NOT PROTECTING BARLOW. PLEASE DO SO - HE WILL BE GREAT and is worth the FIRST ROUND SELECTION you give up. A good draft and a great year by D.Davis should get you off to the right start as well. (I might have protected Charlie Rogers though) Fargas is going to be lost in that RBBC nightmare in Oakland. Its not too late to change!! Goodluck in the draft.
