:oLooks like a deal is all but signed, sealed and delivered for Travis Henry to the Titans for a third round pick. Of course its contingent on Henry passing a physical, but im sure Mr.Henry can pass a physical on his death bed he is that much of a warrior. Sad news for Tout - as mr durability will most likey take over for Mr. Brittle Chris Brown. But lucky for Tout he has the first overall pick - so he can scoop up Travis Henry and leave Ronnie Brown for the rest of us ..warrior

If T Henry goes to Tennessee, it won't be as the starter. He will back up C Brown.

It wont be long into the season before Travis Henry is the starter - either due to C.Brown injury or due to C.Brown resting all week and not practicising nursing his brittle body.
You'll see!!

Chicken, After the draft, Brown will be my 4th running back so he isn't really the focal point of my fantasy success this season. You see, unlike the defending champ, The Tout has depth at RB. Hell, I may even ask Gerald to change the rules so I can employ the wishbone this season. :-) It's a shame that a Broncos' fan like yourself will have to root against Tatum Bell in week one. I feel for you champ.

First of all, No fantasy league opener or fantasy league championship game can make me cheer against my Broncos - NEVER. However, i feel sorry for a man who has to rely on Mike Shanahan's backfield in Week ONE of an NFL season. You see Mike Shanahan likes to wait till week 3-4 to determin his pecking order at RB. So say hello to MR.ANDERSON COME WEEK 1 and his 17 carries:

Chicken, I hope you were joking because as big of a jerk-off that Shanahan is, I'm sure you know your favorite team better than that. I have a mole in Denver who follows the Broncos and he tells me that the RB stuff in Denver is all media hype. He told me that this isn't even close. Bell is so far ahead of everyone else, it's not even funny. This is the same guy who told me after one training camp that TD was all done and do whatever I could to get my hands on Portis, so I trust what he says. He has always given me solid info in the past and it's not really opinion as much as it is what is really going on there. I agree that Shanahan is an idiot sometimes but you have to look at one's competition:
Anderson - Been there, done that. He is just a solid player to have on your team, not a 20 carry back. History has proven that. Besides, Anderson is coming back from an injury and has one one game with more than 17 carries (19) in two and a half years so I won't be losing any sleep over him.
Griffin - Would be the starter if this was midget tossing but it's football.
Dayne - If this was a hot dog eating contest, he would easily win the job.
Clarret - I have an open mind so I won't say Clarett has no value in the future but he is not a threat to Bell right now.
So, where is the RBBC? I see one back with talent and a bunch of stiffs that had a chance in the past and couldn't get the job done in the NFL. Hey, it's Denver and anything can happen but in a keeper league, I like where I'm sitting with Bell. I targeted him the second I got here. You just worry about Alexander and TO signing on the dotted line my friend because you have problems of your own. You don't want to be starting Kerry Carter week one :-)
Also, I can point to six seasons where Shanahan didn't wait until week 3 or 4 to settle on a back. Even last year, if you remember, he didn't "settle" on Droughns. The midget got hurt and DRoughns came out of nowhere. In the first two games last year, little person had 25 and 23 carries so I think Mike had his mind made up.

One more thing Chicken. I'm sure you know that Shanahan is feeling the heat in Denver. You know, because he hasn't won a playoff game since Elway retired. This is an important season for him and he can't be screwing around with his usual bullshit. He needs to put the best players on the field and I believe that player right now at RB is hands down Tatum Bell and I think you agree with me. If he wants to wait until week six to sort things out, he will be unemployed at season's end.

Chicken, Congrats, your coach is a joke. At least next year I get to play in this league for free. Unless the 2004 Browns' D-line all of a sudden can play, which I doubt. Never understood guys like you. The Cowboys are a laughingstock by signing wastes of life like Drew Bledsoe but at least I man up and say they are a joke. Your coach is running your team into the ground and you sit back and applaude it and make excuses for him. Never understood that. I guess we are just different kinds of fans because if the Cowboys don't win the Super Bowl, I don't view the season as a success. You must root for the Braves in baseball. lol Shanahan will still lose his job, I was just wrong on Anderson which makes us both 50% on these calls. Enjoy the cellar buddy.

Also, I notice you are a cut and paste guy. You like to cut and paste when you are right. Don't I remember you guaranting all of us that The Edge would be in Miami this year? Guess you forgot about that post, huh?

i defend my coach b/c if you invest any time watching the denver broncos this preseason you will understand that Tatum Bell is completely clueless on what it means to BLOCK in the NFL - versus the niners he was the direct cause of a blocked punt as he watched Keith Lewis of the Niners (i believe) blow by him and block the Sauerbrun punt.
Jake has been on his back more than a few occasions as a direct result of Tatum's weak blocking ability - there is no wonder why Jake is publicly giving his support to Mike Anderson - a player who played FULLBACK - a hard worker who has shown burst and speed - it is clear that Tatum doesnt have the maturity to be an NFL starter - still cant believe he was quoted on draft day stating he wanted to wear #7 when he was drafted. Get a grip.
I would have publicly lashed Shanahan if at this point he gave the nod to T.Bell based on speed and potential alone.
as for Man-ing Up for my team - i think laying 60 bucks on the line defending your so called expert claim that they will be in the basement of the AFC West shows how wrong you are.
As for Edge - i had a vested interest in wanting him to goto Miami as i was shopping D.Rhodes and you made it a point to cockblock any of my moves - just as you cockblocked SOS when he tried to trade Collins and u publicly called Collins a bum.
All your predictions so far have been Dead wrong - from T.O. in the superbowl to T.Bell and whatever else. I also believed you predicted the Bengals to win their division and we might have a bet on that one as well as i disagree.
You may be a writer and a fantasy football guru, but until your claims are backed up in this site - you havent earned your street credibililty just yet.
I look forward to Week1 and the entire season playing against the self proclaimed genius.
bring it

Chicken,
My reputation speaks for itself. I have nothing to prove here. I never claimed to be right all the time. I thought arguing about things was part of the fun of the league? Besides, I said Edge wouldn't be traded. Who does he play for? Wasn't Kerry Carter going to start or be the backup in Seattle or some craziness like that? Did that stiff even make the team? Boy, for someone who is always right, you are wrong a lot. I believe I said Burleson would be the next big star in the NFL on this board. Forgot that one, huh? Hey, I never said I was right all the time but I see why people root for you to lose. When you are right you throw it in people's face and when you are wrong, you pretend it never happened. I have a lot of opinions and I'm more than happy to admit when I'm wrong. It's freaking fantasy football. Show me someone who is right with their predictions all the time and I will buy their service. I am a writer because writing is the talent God blessed me with, not because I am right 90% of the time about fantasy football. I started writing about FF years ago as an "in" to other things and that has proven to be a very wise move on my part. I was able to become a much better writer over the years while I was in school, setting me up for better things. The only reason I keep my column at GG is because I'm a partner and getting rid of it would be bad for business and put less money in my pocket. To be honest, I don't have the time to write it and it is a pain in the ass. Also, I never said anything about me being a FF Guru. Those are your words, not mine.
I thought Bell would win that job easily, that's why I traded for him but I was wrong. It still doesn't mean, however, that he won't be a fantasy factor by the end of the year. Can we wait until the NFL plays at least one week before we start claiming who is right and who is wrong? I mean it's Denver for Christ sakes. I think Bell will get a shot at some point and we will see what happens. Maybe he sucks and I will be wrong and then I won't earn my "street credit" with you on this message board. Oh well, I guess I will have to try and go on with my life somehow. Be well.
