Gerald - i need confirmation on something.
By acquiring picks in the fashion that I have - I am doing so with the intention of having a roster of more than 20 ppl !!!
i fully expected this in all my dealings. Please advise if this holds true as somebody in the league has mentioned that once my roster spots are filled my extra picks become dead? To me this is not true and ludacris?
The rules state:
*Roster size : 18 players. There are no roster restrictions except that you must draft enough players at each position to field a starting lineup on opening day.
To me this clearly means that no restrictions means u can draft a team of 14 or 24 it makes no difference as long as u can field a starting lineup.
Please confirm for me.
thanks
Gare

You said it right there, ROSTER SIZE IS 18. Should not be able to draft 24 players when the max roster limit is 18. Just the way I see it.

roster size 18 means you can't have 19.you can have 17 or even less but not more than 18,ever. no restrictions refers to position restrictions. ie if you want alot of qb's and no extra wr's then go for it. as long as you can field a starting lineup.

The "no restrictions" was meant for if you want to draft 5 qbs then you can or 8 kickers. Or whatever, just as long as you could field a legal starting lineup. That rule has been up there since day 1. I figured everybody understood it that way.
Roster size is 18. If you have more then 18 players on your roster after the draft, then you will be given time to reduce your roster to the legal limit of 18.

What do you guys think about expanding the roster to 23 for the preseason? Then at the end of the preseason the rosters get cut to 18? That gives everybody 5 extra players to play for a couple of weeks. We'll put this to vote, majority wins.

i like the idea. i would like to have a draft or waiver wire period right after our season too. to expand the rosters back to 23 for the offseason.

I personally see no need for it. Why would I need 23 players on my roster in a 12 team league? There are only so many people who have fantasy value. In a deep league like this, the players that don't get drafted who will have fantasy value will be players who come out of nowhere and won't get picked up until the season starts. I don't care either way but in a 12 team league where we have 18 players per roster and guys who know football, the only players who will be in that extra pool are people like Randy Hymes. It seems like a waste of time to me and I won't lose any sleep no matter what is decided but in my opinion, 18 players per roster a month before the season kicks off is plenty.

I think that 18 is plenty. Just because someone messed up and aquired too many draft picks we should change the rules? Nope not in my book. I think 18 is just right.
