proposal #1 So i recently discovered that we are not allowed to trade draft picks during the season. Thats one idea.
proposal #2 Smaller Rosters: Currently 18
8 starters
10 bench. Maybe drop it down to 7 or 8.
Could lead to more meaningful transactions. Instead of shuffling our bench players around.
Just a couple ideas. What do you guys think? I am sure you guys have discussed this before.
Ohhhohh.Just had another idea.
proposal #3 Limit on keeper years. ie. Maximum 3-4 years. Certainly adds strategy.

Smaller rosters for sure. There is no need for all of us to be hoarding every player in the league on our bench. In takes away from the in-season strategy in my opinion but what's that worth?

Its worth alot. Considering this is a Keeper League. We are more prone to stashing players on the bench. Which i am not a fan of.
Especially during the off-season. Some of you crafty owners drop all the kickers, tes, and dsts. To create more space for possible keepers/trade bait. This semi-leverage can be lessened with smaller rosters and maintain these rosters in the offseason.

Im in support for smaller roster sizes !! smaller roster sizes would force me to let go of my all star QB crew:
Manning McNabb Culpepper Bledsoe A.Brooks

Trading drafts picks during the season - no. It is already hectic trying to keep up with all of chicken's......oops I mean all the draft picks that are traded during the off season. Smaller roster sizes....I agree with. We have way too many spots. 14 to 15 spots is enough. I think we have too many keepers as well. Two, maybe three would be good. However, I don't think there should be a limit on how long someone can keep a player. Just my 2 cents

1. Trading draft picks during the season: [glow=green,2,300]If we do this, i think there will be a limit like only using draft picks once for trades.[/glow]
2. Smaller Rosters: [glow=red,2,300]I was thinking going to 16 plus implementing an IR system. [/glow]
3. Limit on keepers: [glow=purple,2,300]I don't think that will happen.[/glow]
4. 4 pts for td passes: [glow=blue,2,300]Ehhhh. I don't know.[/glow]

Smaller Rosters: Current Roster: 18 players
16 is still alot. Consider our starters. 1qb-1rb-2wrs-1rb/wr-1te-1def=7 starters. At the very least 14. I like the number 15. Giving us 7-9 bench players. Currently 11.
Purpose of smaller rosters in my mind, is to prevent owners from stashing players on their bench. Keepers or trade bait.
How much effect would removing two rosters have on my team?
I would probably drop the 8th and 9th rb on my team. If not my 4th wr. The first scenario is ridiculous. Now i only have 7 rbs. please.
I could understand having 16+ rosters if we started 8 players. But that is another question in itself.
just some thoughts.
IR is a great idea. I would hate to punish a team that takes Javon Walker in the 1st or 2nd round. Later to end up out for the season early in the year.
Since this is a Point Per Reception league. I'm not comfortable with 4 per TD pass. The PPR even out the value of players.
We should allow draft picks during the season. I wanted to make a trade this season and did not see any player on another teams roster that i wanted. So i offered for draft picks. To find out we don't allow it.
The other team was going to the playoffs and obviously I should not make it. What value do i have trading away a decent player for another decent player? When i have no hope of turning my season around. I figured rebuild for next season. But trading for picks in-season is out of bounds.
You know what this is going to get confusing later...so i think we should make individual threads for these rules suggestions.
Maybe even a new forum category.
